It's Not Always About Winning

Could losing actually be a good thing? Coach Paul Assaiante, most “winningest coach in college sports history” argues that winning all the time might hinder your chances in improving.

When individuals and teams fail, the real lessons can be learned. No one ever wants to fail and feel upset. However, when you do lose and feel sad, this is a good thing! It means that you cared and that it meant something to you. That is the teachable moment. Almost no one learns after a victory.

When you lose, you must learn from your mistakes, fix things that aren’t just right, and keep moving forward. If you can master accepting defeat and learning the lessons of defeat, that is the magical life lesson to truly improve and keep learning.
